Welcome To The Weekend!

Hi friends!

How was your week? Hope it was good. Welcome to the weekend!

I'm flying to Colorado for the Dever "SHE Tour" show. See www.sheevent.com for details! I've never been to Colorado before, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like. I've been told the air is pretty thin out there, so hopefully I won't pass our during my set!

It's been a real encouragement to hear more of you have been using my songs, all around the world. It reminds me that we are all family regardless of nationality or language...we are united as worshipers around the globe! Keep sending me your videos and I'll feature them on the Blog like this every now and then : )

Highlights of my week were: successfully cooking egg burritos with no casualties (!), watching a documentary on child trafficking called "Not For Sale", the Spring weather hitting Nashville, managing to not eat bread or sandwiches for a week (its a kind of diet!) and cutting my own bangs/fringe and not messing them up!! (I'm a wannabe hairstylist at heart!)

Most importantly, I also made more time to spend with God this week... I feel like I need to hear His voice on a bunch of different decisions, so I carved out time this week to just be still, read, listen and journal. My favorite thing He said to me was this:

"My yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:30).

I'm sure we've all heard that verse hundreds of times, but this time is hit me especially deeply. Even though I follow Jesus with all of my heart, sometimes I feel like I still strive too much in life...I put too much pressure on myself to work harder, to be better, or to accomplish more for Him each day. He reminded me that I need to stop stressing myself out with 'doing' and just rest in 'being' with Him. He reminded me that it's only when we are connected to "The Vine" (John 15) that we bear fruit, not when we neglect the Vine by trying to bear fruit in our own strength.

So He's drawing me deeper into just 'being' with Him, "The Vine", and letting the fruit and work all spring out of that place of life and intimacy. That is the 'yoke that's easy' and the 'burden that's light' - He doesn't say "come and work for Me", He simply says "come to Me"...its all about relationship and intimacy. May our ministries never steal us away from that precious time with Him!

My question for our little community is this:

"In your life, how is the balance between "being with" Jesus and "doing things for" Jesus?
Is He calling you to spend more time alone with Him?"

Have a fab weekend! Enjoy these videos submitted by people from across the globe!
